Job Description


TABLEAU DEVELOPER


The Tableau Developer develops and implements quality business intelligence (BI) projects within a given timeline.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and implement stable and scalable analytic and reporting solutions.

  • Deliver high quality software solutions in line with business needs and timescales.

  • Participate in business analysis activities to gather required reporting and dashboard

  • Translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required

  • Document test cases and construct test scripts.

  • Communicate results in a user-friendly format.

  • Validate reports to ensure data accuracy.

  • Design and Implement Data Marts and Data Warehouses using best practices.

  • Use data modeling techniques to define and support database schema development.

  • Create and automate reports.

  • Undertake appropriate data analysis for ad-hoc reporting.

  • Create user guides and documentation on both run management and ad-hoc reporting where

  • Investigate quality control failures and resolve or escalate to appropriate team as needed.

  • Communicate effectively across and within teams.

  • Interact with customers as needed to provide technical information via conference calls or on-

  • Transition developed reports and dashboards to the Operations and Support Team.


Hiring Criteria:


  • Bachelor’s degree holder in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information

  • at least 5 years hands on experience with Tableau

  • Familiarity with one or more of the following areas:

    • Microstrategy, Datastage, Terradata, Cognos, SAP Bobj, Qlikview, Yellowfin, Jaspersoft

    • Data visualization

    • Relational Databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL)

    • BI data architecture

    • Datawarehouse design

    • Performance tuning and optimization

    • Designing data models, star schemas, snowflake schemas and 1-3NF data models

  • Logical and analytical skills

  • Ability to work in fast changing environment

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task across numerous work streams

  • Strong Interpersonal and client facing skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

  • Attention to details

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Fundamental knowledge in Agile Methodology, SDLC, Waterfall or any Project Management

  • Background in scoping, planning and project management a plus

  • Willing to work on a shifting schedule
