POWER BI DEVELOPER
The Power BI Developer conducts requirements gathering and project scoping sessions with stakeholders and translate business requirements into Power BI dashboards within a given timeline.
Conducts requirements gathering and project scoping sessions with subject matter experts,
business users, stakeholders to discover and define business reporting needs.
Translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required.
Power BI reports and dashboards, created from potentially multiple data sources.
Design and implement stable and scalable analytic and reporting solutions.
Deliver high quality software solutions in line with business needs and timescales.
Document test cases and construct test scripts.
Communicate results in a user-friendly format.
Validate reports to ensure data accuracy.
Use data modeling techniques to define and support database schema development.
Create and automate reports.
Undertake appropriate data analysis for ad-hoc reporting.
Create user guides and documentation on both run management and ad-hoc reporting where
Investigate quality control failures and resolve or escalate to appropriate team as needed.
Communicate effectively across and within teams.
Interact with customers and end users to provide technical information via conference calls or
Bachelor’s degree holder in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information
at least 5 years hands on experience with Power BI is a must
Background as Business Analyst with hands on experience in requirements gathering, scoping,
and translating business requirements into Power BI dashboards an advantage.
Familiarity with one or more of the following areas:
BI Tools: Tableau, SQL Server SSIS, SSAS & SSRS, Oracle Data Integrations/OWB,
Microstrategy, Datastage, Terradata, Cognos, SAP Bobj, Qlikview, Yellowfin, Jaspersoft
Relational Databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL)
BI data architecture
Performance tuning and optimization
Designing data models, star schemas, snowflake schemas and 1-3NF data models
Logical and analytical skills
Ability to work in fast changing environment
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Ability to prioritize and multi-task across numerous work streams
Strong Interpersonal and client facing skills
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
Attention to details
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Fundamental knowledge in Agile Methodology, SDLC, Waterfall or any Project Management
Methodology a plus
Background in scoping, planning and project management a plus
Willing to work on a shifting schedule
