Last June 26, the United States of America rejoiced as their Supreme Court ruled same-sex marriage as a constitutional right nationwide. The ruling enables same-sex couples to enjoy federal benefits of marriage like Social Security rights, spousal support, medical decision-making privileges, access to a partner’s insurance, and hospital visitation rights. Today, we’re featuring some visualizations that bring some context to the USA’s journey towards marriage equality.
