Last March 8-9, 2014 – the MISNet family travelled to Tagaytay to hold its 2014 kickoff and company outing at Gratchi’s Getaway, Tagaytay.
MISNet started bright and early to embark on Gratchi’s famous team building activities. The company was divided into 4 teams – Blue, Green, Violet and Red. Ultimately, the team with the highest accumulated score would be crowned champion.
The weather didn’t seem to cooperate in the morning. It was raining, so the marshals started off with indoor activities. It began with Hyperlink, an ice breaker that was actually a memory game. Next was Blind Barnyard which tested the employees’ senses. Traffic Jam was an algorithm puzzle. MISNet’s blue team set a new record by solving it in eight minutes. Lastly, Battle of the Bridges challenged our inner architects and physicists. The morning was mostly for thinking and strategy games.
After a few hours, the sun came out and it was time for the physical challenge, The Great Farm Race. The course was composed of several stations; teams had to complete a task in each station before getting a clue on how to get to the next one. The stakes were high as the last team to finish the course had to go down the mud slide.
Before we found out how the teams faired in the competition, the company sat down for the sales kickoff. During a sales kickoff, the company elaborates on the sales goal for the year – how we get there and how each employee can help. After the presentations, we had a commitment activity. It was as simple as writing down how every employee can help to reach the goal. After writing down their commitments, each person shared their list to the entire company.
The final event for the team building was the presentation of flags and cheers. The teams showed off their creativity and team spirit. The marshals tallied the score and announced the winners. The Green Team came out on top and became the champion.
In the evening, the company gathered around a bonfire. Our executives lead the toast to begin the festivities and usher in a great year for MISNet.
